Joseph Ascenzi

Joseph M. Ascenzi is the Horticulturist and President of Laurel Hill Gardens.

He is a graduate of the Horticulture programs at Temple University and the Pennsylvania State University. While interning for Independence National Historic Park, Joseph maintained the gardens of Independence Hall, The Betsy Ross House and other historic landmarks.

In 1981, Joseph opened Laurel Hill Gardens in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia and Laurel Horticultural Services providing landscape architectural design, planting and garden management.

Joseph is a member of the National Association of Landscape Professionals, and is also a Shade Tree Commissioner in Abington Township.

With over 40 years of landscape design, restoration and management experience, Joseph is still fascinated by the intersection of the human experience and the living, evolving garden.
